Bande dessinée quizz

The 29th of August saw member of the Alliance Française and current Masters student, Jenette Reitsma, present a workshop to the Grade 11 boys at Hilton College on la BD. In the form of a quizz, students were introduced to certain aspects of the bande dessinée, namely: onomatopoeia, speech bubbles, images, colour and ellipses. Great fun was had enjoying the french pastries earlier purchased at La Baguette! Thanks to Heather Peel and the Hilton staff for their support in this endeavour.

Tatham Art Gallery

The 28th of August saw members of the Alliance Francaise head off to the Tatham Art Gallery to watch Maxine Matthews, Mauritian-born saxophonist, accompanied by Christopher Duigan. What a super concert and we wish Maxine all the best in her future endeavours on route to Liverpool!

French Bakery in Howick

The 27th August saw the French Teachers of KZN meet up on a misty, wet morning for café, croissant and causette at Crusty Corner in Howick. Delicious treats from La Baguette were purchased and enjoyed across the way at the coffee shop. Thanks to all who came and made the morning such a success! Merci à Isa for organising, quelle bonne idée :)
